I dislike introducing myself online,  I am a more in person kind of meeter/greeter, but I’m Rachel Stewart and like many of you I am also an English Education major. I also work full time at a check cashing store, which when I tell my customers I go to Chico state they assume I am a finance major,  this makes me giggle because math has always been a struggle for me. This is my second semester at Chico state, and I’m willing to admit that I still feel a little lost at school.  I transferred in from Lassen Community College, which is in my hometown of Susanville CA. I adore Chico. It is beautiful town, and the atmosphere is awesome. At the moment I am enjoying breakfast and coffee with my two bestfriends/roomates and their miniature schnauzers. I am an avid reader, the problem is finding time to read works that I desire to read and the works that I am assigned as a student, or just finding time to read any of it is a struggle.  I am not much of a writer for other people, but I do write for myself. What do reading and writing DO for me? Reading and writing for me is escape from my own day to day crazy life. Reading allows us to be sitting in our world, in our life, but as we read we can enter a whole new universe, a whole new story that differs from our life in every way.
