I  think that the general public attaches a negative connotation to social networking and digital sponsors of literacy. The younger generation hears it all the time from their parents and grandparents about how they need to “be here now” and put down their phones. People don’t take digital sponsors of literacy seriously. A rant on Facebook about someone’s day isn’t thought of on the same level as if that person were journaling, when actually the two are quite similar. If anything, the Facebook post would be more challenging because as Franklin mentions when composing a tweet you are addressing the world, it’s not longer diary entry, and the individual composing the FB status update must keep their audience in mind the entire time.

My sponsors of literacy are Wells Fargo, used book stores, “reading the fine print”, and social media, among many more.
