Literacy Narrative: The Sneak Preview

Q: Try to think of your earliest memories of writing and reading.  What do you remember of reading and writing before you began school?  Who helped you with it and what was that like?

A: “Before I began school I remember reading almost every night at least two books with my parents. They were simple books like ‘Chicka Chicka Boom Boom’ or ‘Cat in the Hat’ but I read a lot. My mom helped me mostly because my dad was working out of town when I was little. I have very fond memories of reading with my mom and that has led me to continue enjoy reading today.”
