resourse activities…

The presentations have been great and participating made me laugh at times. This alone taught me something. I have enjoyed all of the groups. I guess my only knock is how well can these activities assimilate into the class room. As fun as “ujam” was, you would have to have 30 plus ipads and some isolation rooms. I think it is great softwear, but still feel from a musicians perspective, it is a little hard to navigate.  I know how smart kids are today, but it requires some adult direction. If anything this ujam could break down a shy kid’s ability to express himself. The Gaming group was great. (learned grouping of words by alliteration from hip hop group) The answering of sports knowledge i got a six out of ten, a girl did better than me. I learned what a participle was and also learned that i have know idea about digital gaming. They were putting images of characters of games on the board and I had know idea who they were. I kept saying world of Warcraft, figuring i would be right at least once. I was wrong, I was right once, but not because of world of Warcraft, but because the game Asteroids and centipede shown on the screen. The “kids” were like you go dude. they had no idea what it was…I liked then how they put us back in our groups and had us make a sentence out of our nouns adjectives and prepositional phrases.

I am excited to know all about this new genre of teaching apparatus and will need to focus in on a few. I think it would look good to put on a resume stating these are the digital activities that can breed learning while not moving away from the modern pedagogy of buying books from fat white men in Texas.
